The process of attesting documents through the Embassy is a three step process (see illustration below). The first step usually involves certifying your documents at the state level. Unless your documents are issued by the U.S. Federal Government, your documents will need to be certified by the State before it can be certified by the U.S. Department of State in Washington, D.C. The second step is to certify your documents through the U.S. Department of State in Washington, D.C.. The final step is to legalize your documents through the Oman Embassy in Washington, D.C.

Criminal Background Check Apostille

Do you need to apostille your Criminal Background Check?

Every month, we apostille hundreds of FBI background checks through our Washington DC apostille office.

If you have not already obtained your FBI background check, the first step is to contact an approved FBI Channeler to assist you in obtaining your FBI background check. If the FBI Channeler is unable to help (Example: Non-US Citizen), please contact the FBI directly. We can provide you a list of recommended FBI Channelers and a direct link to the FBI website.

If you have received your FBI background check in a digital format (PDF copy) from the FBI Channeler or FBI, go ahead and email it to us with the completed FBI apostille order form and payment. If you have received your FBI background by regular mail (Hard copy), go ahead and mail it to our Washington DC office with our order forms. We can process a digital PDF copy or a hard copy. It’s your choice.

A criminal background check originating from the FBI can be processed through our Washington DC office.

Social Security Apostille

Florida Marriage Apostille

Do you need to apostille your Florida Marriage Certificate?

In the State of Florida, a marriage certificate is issued by the Circuit and County Courts in the County the marriage was filed in. In order to apostille this document, you will need to obtain a certified copy signed by the Clerk of the Circuit Court. The certified copy will also have a raised seal (Embossed) and a stamp from the Circuit and County Courts.

Here is an example of a color seal placed by the Miami- Dade Circuit and County Courts certifying the copy.

If you do not have a certified copy, please contact the Circuit and County Court for instructions on how to obtain a certified copy. Once you receive the certified copy, go ahead and mail it to our Miami, Florida office for processing. Our office in Florida can apostille all marriage certificates issued from all 67 Counties.

Documents originating from the State of Florida are processed directly from the Florida Secretary of State’s office. Please note that your documents will receive an Apostille from the State of Florida.
