Do you need to certify and legalize your documents for Vietnam?
Are you planning to get married in Vietnam and need a single status affidavit?
Are you conducting business in Vietnam and need your notarized documents legalized through the Embassy in Washington, D.C.?
Vietnam is not a member of the Hague Apostille Convention (Convention of 5 October 1961 Abolishing the Requirement of Legalization for Foreign Public Documents). Documents being sent to this country require State, U.S. Department of State, and Vietnam Embassy legalization. This three step process is necessary in order for the country of Vietnam to accept your documents.
Here is an illustration to help explain the process:
Every year, we process hundreds of notarized documents for Vietnam. If you will be conducting business in this country, your documents will need to be signed and notarized prior to mailing them to our office. Be sure to also download our order forms. For example, if your documents were signed and notarized in California, they would need to be processed through the California Secretary of State, the US Department of State in Washington DC, and the Vietnam Embassy (three steps).
Certifying and legalizing documents for Vietnam can be complicated. Don’t leave this process to untrained employees or non-professionals who do not fully understand the Apostille process and the unique requirements of certain countries. Your paperwork could be rejected costing you time and money. Don’t let this happen to you!
